The Designer’s love for working with fiber and loom, wool and texture is the key point of this project.

The INSPIRATION for patterns is taken from nature, from skin.

The tactile fabric is reminiscent of a real extension of our skin.

The after treatments which were applied like felting and careful, yet unrestricted approach towards material used, brings an unpredictable effect, a RIDDLE.

WOOL and CUSTOM WOVEN TEXTILES are not A STANDARD in underwear. Can it be functional and pleasant? Can it be sexy? Can we bring locally manufactured, original, esthetical and clever textiles back in to our life?

THE SET was designed and manufactured in Lodz in the summer of 2009 during the designers stay for a course of Polish language. From sketching and conceptual work, through weaving and postproduction this set is a manual work of one person. The designer is the actual doer. Weaving work was performed on a simple Dutch Louët loom, sewing was done on 100-year-old basic, well known Singer machine, the overlock was simply from Łucznik. Wool was acquired from Polish highlanders and two other quality manufacturers in Finland and Ireland. All other material was acquired and is available at the local market.

The textiles can work in many products like pillows, scarves, blankets, furniture, clothes et cetera. The scope of possibilities is wide.

In this project textiles are put to work as a colorful VARIETY of 13 pants. The aim is to make not only fabrics but QUALITY, affordable and marketable products.

Felting TECHNIQUES which were developed in this project involve usage of easily felting yarns combined with hard or non-felting yarns, double-layer weaving, thick and thin materials, materials of extremely different characteristics, combining different techniques... A collection of customized, three dimensional textiles is the result. Yes WOOL and WOVEN! TOUCH and ENJOY!
